In January, the couple requested to leave the country for medical treatment but the court in Baku denied the request.
So far no official explanation or a statement was issued by the Baku authorities.
The couple's lawyer Elchin Sadigov says he too does not have any further information. Speaking to AzadliqRadioasu Sadigov said he applied to the Supreme Court at the end of March to appeal the travel ban but he never received any more updates on the case. However the Supreme Court in an interview with AzadliqRadiosu said the decision was made to let the couple travel April 18.
