Khaled Hosseini's book available in audio for visually impaired in Azerbaijan
He is Khadija Ismayil's supporter and listened to her daily radio shows on Azadliq Radiosu. His name is Maharram Shaverdi.
He recently finished the audio version of Hosseini's "Kite Runner" for visually impaired. The book was translated into Azerbaijani by Khadija.
In an interview with Azadliq Radiosu, 54 year old Shaverdi said, "Friends worked on voicing the book, I edited it for visually impaired. And every time I worked on this book, I thought of Khadija. I have great respect for her, as a human being, as a journalist".

Khadija's next award
Khadija Ismayil was named one of the 4 honorees of prestigious Alison Des Forges Award for Extraordinary Activism. The award was announced earlier today by the Human Rights Watch.
Khadija is honored along with Nisha Ayub, a leading human rights defender on transgender rights in Malaysia, Yara Bader, a journalist and human rights activist exposing detention and torture of journalists in war-torn Syria, Nicholas Opiyo, a leading human rights lawyer and founder of the human rights organization Chapter Four Uganda.
“The Alison Des Forges Award honors people who work courageously and selflessly to defend human rights, often in dangerous situations and at great personal sacrifice,” said Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch.
Khadija will be honored in Munich and Geneva.
