Tural Mustafayev's video confession: he says he was forced to testify against Khadija Ismayilova
The video you can watch below was made by Tural Mustafayev, the man many know as Khaidja Ismayilova's accuser. The infamous charge "incitement to suicide" was what got Ismayilova arrested on December 5 2014.
In the video message Mustafayev confesses that he was forced to write the letter of complaint and that his attempt to suicide had nothing to do with Khadija Ismayilova.
Here is a brief summary of what he says:
"On October 20, I drank poison with an intention to commit suicide. With the help of Samira Agayeva I was rescued.
The Baku City Prosecutor office used this opportunity and made it look as if I committed suicide because of Khadija.
I was forced to write the letter. They blackmailed me. They said they will release secret camera recordings of my apartment if I didn’t comply.
On December27, as I tried to leave the country I was stopped by the border police and told I had a travel ban.
The same day I was brought to baku and kept under house arrest until February 14. In the meantime both my facebook and email accounts were hacked.
I was beaten and then placed by force into a rehabilitation center for mentially ill by the special forces of Azerbaijan.
I want everyone to know that I have no complaints against Khadiaj. And that I was forced to write the letter."
