Hearing of Khadija Ismayilova proceeds without anyone allowed inside the court room
February 23, no one was allowed to attend the hearing of Khadija Ismayilova despite the hearing being open to public.
According to Azadliq Radiosu no journalists were allowed, including Ismayilova's family.
Although requests were submitted to attend the hearing, process continued behind the closed doors.
On February 20 Ismayilova was tricked into attending another closed hearing. She was told she was going to see her lawyer however she was taken into a court room.
Today's hearing is still in process.
Ismayilova to pay 2500Manat in fines
February 23, following the break during the closed hearing on the case of Khadija Ismayilova against Elman Turkoglu, the journalist was found guilty based on Article 147.2 of the Criminal Code (slander) and fined 2500Manat.
"Ismayilova refused to return after the break and make a final statement", said her lawyer Elton Guliyev in an interview with Azadliq Radiosu shortly after the hearing.
The decision was read in the absence of Khadija Ismayilova.
Her lawyer Elton Guliyev said he is going to appeal the decision finding it totally illegal and unfair.
