Another call to release Khadija Ismayilova
International reaction to the arrest of RFE/RL Baku bureau journalist and host of daily show Ismayilova is continuing.
Dana Rohrabacher (Republican, CA) chairman of the House Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging threats, said Khadija's release "would be a step in the right direction and a sign of Azerbaijan's positive intentions".
January 14 a series of posters calling for Khadija Ismayilova's release were seen in Azerbaijan's northern town of Sheki.
While there is no information on who distributed the posters, "Free Khadija" posters were posted around the city's bus stops and elsewhere.
The local administration issued an immediate order to remove the posters.

Yalchin Imanov, Khadija Ismayilova’s lawyer refused to enter Baku Detention Facility. In an interview with Azadliq Radiosu, Imanov said yet again he was subject to detailed search when trying to visit Ismayilova. “For few months now, lawyers of political prisoners are subject to illegal search when entering and exiting the prison. Our personal notebooks are being cautiously examined as if looking for something. Despite my objection they attempted to search me again. To protest, I refused to go in.”
Imanov is certain this is not for security purposes.
