Shop Owners Protest In Baku

In Azerbaijan, shop and kiosk owners protested against Baku city government plans that will force them to close their businesses in metro stations.

The vendors are demanding the cancellation of the decision and compensation for any financial losses. The latest changes were introduced by the new managment of the Baku Metropoliten. Protesters told RFE/RL Azerbaijani Service that " metro officials promissed to consider their concerns and respond within one week. " The police was present, but did not use force.
