“Her health is in a very serious condition. Since October 30, she is denied her prescribed medicine. The prison management is refusing to transfer her to the medical ward. And on top of all this, they have also confiscated her walking stick”, said Elchin Gambarov, Leyla Yunus lawyer in an interview with AzadqliRadiosu.
“I simply do not understand how an elderly, sick woman can be treated so inhumanly. No matter how many times we have made requests, officially and unofficially, it is to no avail. I cannot stress how bad of a medical condition she is in”.
In the meantime, Leyla Yunus’s German doctor Witt says Yunus must be transferred to a medical ward immediately.
Gambarov says there is hope Leyla Yununs will be released.
