February 25, Baku court of appeal dismissed Leyla Yunus appeal on the extention of her pretrial detention sentence leaving rights activist in jail.
Yunus detention time was extended by an additional five months on February 18.
Yunus, is the founder and the head of the Institute of Peace and Democracy and prominent human rights activist.
Leyla Yunus was arrested July 30 and is facing charges of treason, tax evasion, abuse of authority and illegal enterpreneurship.
She denies all of the charges describing her arrest as politically motivated. Shortly after her arrest, she was recognized as "prisoner of conscience" by Amnesty International.
